I love to find bargain prices but looking for them can be a real pain. ScanLife offers the solution to this problem. This new app, available for both iOS and Android devices, takes the work out of finding the best price by finding the best deals for you. Sound too good to be true? How ScanLife helps you save
ScanLife is a new FREE app that helps you find the best price by scanning QR and bar codes of products you’re interested in. The app searches online retailers and nearby stores to find the best deals on these products. You can either show the discounted price to a store that offers price-matching or instantly be directed to buy a lower priced product elsewhere.
Recently, my beloved Clarisonic bit the dust, so I’ve been in the market for a new model. I hit my local Ulta store where the Mia 2 model was on sale for $149.99. I scanned the barcode in ScanLife and found the same model for $129.99 on NewEgg.com! I bought that model and saved $20. Woot!

Customize ScanLife to Your Interests
One of my favorite features of ScanLife is that you can customize the app to find deals that relate to your interests. At first I found it a little difficult to customize my interests so here’s a quick three step guide.
1. First, hit the deals tab on the bottom right of your screen.
2. Next, click on the gray circle at the top right. A screen will drop down with two options. Click on the first tab which reads “My Interests.”
3. Last, rate each category (there are twelve) on a one to five basis depending on your interest level. You’re done!
You’ll want to customize your interests right away as this will help the app choose the deals that you’ll be most interested in. Once I customized the app I was much more intrigued by the deals that were offered. I also loved that you can adjust the frequency of messages to daily, weekly, or monthly. Even better, all the messages are displayed in-app so there’s no worry about emails clogging up your inbox.
Find the Best Products
Scanning the barcode of a product doesn’t just help you find the best deals. Scanning the product brings up a new screen that offers coupons, customer reviews, deals and related products as well as alternate prices.
The only con I found was in this section of the app. The problem is that the coupons aren’t necessarily for the product you’re trying to buy. While the coupons are for related products, they won’t help you save on the item you’re currently looking for.
mPoints = Rewards
We know BargainBabe readers love freebies and we can’t think of anything better than scoring freebies for saving money. Wow! ScanLife users can earn “mobile points” or mPoints for scanning products, checking your inbox, sharing on social media and more. Then, you can use these mPoints to snag fun rewards like iTunes, Amazon, and Starbucks giftcards. While you’ll need a few 1,000 point to snag these prizes, racking up points is easy. I used the app for a little over two days and already had about 300 mPoints. Nice!
Considering I only used the app for a few days and I’ve already saved AND racked up mPoints, I’m pretty hooked. Download ScanLife here to try it out for yourself. What do you think?
