With Christmas time nearby we’re all in need of extra income to pay for presents. Below I’ve compiled 10 ways you can make money on your free time. How much will you be spending on gifts this year?
Pass finger foods. The staff for most catered events is made up of contractors and part-timers. And since holiday parties are rampant this time of year, there’s need for wait staff. Call local catering agencies to see who’s hiring.
Get a seasonal job. So far I’ve received three emails from stores looking to hire seasonal workers. Yes, places hire this early! You’ll have to go through training, and you’ll probably work as a part-timer. Aside from the extra money, there’s a major incentive to get a seasonal job – the coveted employee discount! Employees at clothing retailers can get up to 50% off merchandise.
Sell your junk. It’s time to go through your closets, basement, and attic to look for electronics, clothes, and furniture to sell stuff on Craigslist.
Sell yourself. Not literally. I’m talking about getting paid for medical donations and research studies. Becoming a plasma, egg, or sperm donor can be a quick and easy way to earn extra cash. I once tried to donate plasma for $60, but I didn’t qualify plus the needle was intimidating. Ouch!
Participate in surveys. Julia shares a list of surveys to make extra money.
House or pet sit. Many people go out of town for Thanksgiving and need someone trustworthy to pick up mail, water their plants, and even take Fido for a walk. Let neighbors know you are available to work.
Shop consignment sales. Then resell the goods on sites like eBay for a profit. Staff writer Libby recently shared her secrets to making money on kid’s consignment sales.
Use your skills. If you’re good with Photoshop and taking photos, you can get paid for making holiday cards for individuals. Just make sure to charge less than a professional. My dad is good at fixing TVs so when he has time, he’ll take in TVs to make extra cash.
Sell your handiwork. You can make extra money by selling handmade items like crocheted scarfs, gloves, and more. Etsy is ground zero for selling anything handmade.
Participate in a focus group. Become a member of a focus group in your area and get paid. Look in your local paper for opportunities. I once was paid $35 to listen to a a couple radio commercial and give feedback. I also got lunch! I stumbled across the research company at a local mall.

Hello, I have actually found a great website where I can sell used books for extra money. The website is http://www.bookjingle.com. I had so many books that I no longer wanted or needed so I sold them. I just submitted and order, packaged them up and send them in using their free label. Two weeks later, I had my check for $19.87!

It’s a pity you don’t have a donate button! I’d definitely donate
to this excellent blog! I suppose for now i’ll settle for book-marking and adding
your RSS feed to my Google account. I look forward to brand new updates and will talk
