We are changing the location of our bylines from a bolded sentence at the top of a post to a gray line directly underneath the post title. Here’s a picture to show you where to find the new byline.
This change makes the site more streamlined, improves our SEO, and still tells you who wrote what. It’s also more in line with how bylines are typically displayed on blogs these days. We hope you like it as much as we do.
You can find out more about our writers on our About page. We even have glamour shots of all of us! We currently have five writers contributing regularly to the site, including:
- Bargain Babe on Mondays (aka Julia Scott)
- Dacia Daly on Tuesdays *and* Saturdays (plus, Dacia compiles our daily freebies post, which is AWESOME!)
- Nancy Munro on Wednesdays
- Rachelle Romberg on Thursdays
- Megan Thode on Fridays
- Julie Birum and Bobbi pinch hit as needed!
We love having a variety of voices, financial approaches, and interests on our site because it enriches the lifestyle and savings insights we provide. Rachelle is an avid garage saler (where she occasionally runs into celebrities), Julie is a mad sewer, Bobbi is into crafting and homeschooling, Nancy likes personal finance and bake sales, Megan is a frugal exerciser and ace car buying negotiator. I’m so proud of the diversity of writers and money approaches we have on BargainBabe.com!
I forgot to say a little bit about myself! I’m a couponer who hates coupons (there are so many other ways to save on groceries!), I cook most of the meals my family eats so I’m very at home in the kitchen but with two kids I don’t have a lot of time to prepare lavish meals anymore, I do most of the buying for my household so I’m savvy about getting deals without spending a lot of time looking for them. I like exercising because it makes me feel good, and I don’t watch much TV.
I’ve been writing BargainBabe.com since January of 2009 (has it been that long, already!) and I still love what I do. When I think about doing something else, I eventually come to the same conclusion: but who would I talk to about money? Yes, my husband and I talk about money, but even his interest in the topic wanes eventually. I love working for myself and being the boss. As a wise woman once said (was it Tiny Fey?) I’m not bossy. I’m the boss.
Thus ends my rant on the writers behind BargainBabe.com!
