Reader Di wrote in with a story that made my bargain blood jealous. She writes:
Went to my favorite outlet store, Half of Half (Name Brand Clothing)…some shoes were on sale for $1.20; I found a pair of black patent leather, ballet style Naturalizer flats for $1.20!!!!!! I checked on-line, a similar pair of Naturlizers were $59.99 on a sale site. These were selling at one tine for $69.99. They were new, the problem? Had some slight problem at the front, No problemo. I used my handy, dandy black, sharpie pen, and marked it in. You cannot tell, as its on the bottom. These are very cute and for $2.00 I love them. Plus its hard to find cute shoes in size 10.
I pressed Di for more details, and here’s what she said:
They are mainly in AR, MO, OK and TX. You never know what they will have, designer items, home goods, etc. I have bought my daughter many designer work clothes and mailed to her CA, even much cheaper than she could buy there. Last fall I bought some suede boots for $50; but I googled and the boots were selling for $300.
You never know what will show up, because they get things from all over, lots of JCP/Macy’s/some Anthro-/Kohl’s. I try to go in only when I know what I want, because you will wind up spending a lot of time and $$ if you do not stick to your budget.
If you are ever out this way, go to the one in Tulsa, OK it’s a huge store, I go there 1x a year and I usually spend about 4-5 hours there. Good luck! Oh yeah, I am wearing my Naturalizers today 🙂
Half of Half boasts their prices are 1/2 of 1/2 of retail. So how much is that? It’s 25% of the original price, if their claims are true. Obviously, not every item is exactly 25% of the original price, but it’s a ballpark claim. Bring your smartphone to check original prices.
Half of Half sells items so cheaply because they are returns and often are damaged in some way. Be realistic about what you can fix, repair, and remove!
Half of Half has stores in AR, KS, MO, NE, OK, TN, and TX. Items may be returned within seven days for a store credit with receipt. Every Wednesday, new items are marked down! Thanks, Di!
