I don’t know about you, but the cold weather always wreaks havoc on my pout. My lips gets dry and flaky. It’s unsightly! I think I would try to make my own lip balm using the recipe in the video if it didn’t require so many ingredients I don’t have – coconut oil, glycerin, etc.
Has anyone made their lip balm before? I’d love a simpler recipe to start!

My “recipe” is really easy. I just hang on to the lip emollients that accompany the so-called long-lasting lipsticks (none of which really work for me). They always last longer than the lip color and are paid for, so why toss ’em out when the color is used up?

@Diane I’ve tried “long lasting lipstick” too, though several years ago. I didn’t like the way the color would stain my lip and leave it very dry. Yes, the emollient helped, but it came off so quickly that I ended up with richly colored, dry lips. Yuck. You’re smart to hang onto the emollient.

I agree with you that the emollient doesn’t last as long as actual chap-stick.
