I searched low and high for the best swimsuit deals for summer 2013. I hope this post helps you find a bargain priced bathing suit! Thanks to Angela for sharing the idea for this post on our $50 Target gift card contest.
My pick for a new swimsuit this summer would be the $50 swim dress from Target, at right. What a great combination of modest and sexy! Alas, I am not in the market for a new suit. The one I bought last year still looks great!
Below I compare swimsuit prices, shipping fees, and other factors at 13 stores.
So who has the best swimsuit deals?
For price, you can’t beat Kohl’s, Walmart, and Sears.
For style at slightly higher prices, I’d turn to Target or Sears.
For sexiness, Victoria’s Secret is one stop shopping. And if you shop early enough (LIKE RIGHT NOW) you may well land a really hot bargain.
For ample coverage, LL Bean and Land’s End are your best bet, though you’ll pay a bit more for quality and customer service.
For sporty suits, Dick’s Sporting Goods has a huge selection for a variety of water sports.
For designer suits, I’d look at Macy’s, TJ Maxx, Marshalls, or if you have the budget, J.Crew.
The only place I wouldn’t recommend is Sam’s Club. There was only one women’s suit, in two color schemes, and it was sorely lacking in style.
Start shopping
Go straight to Kohl’s swimsuit department.
Go straight to Target’s swimsuits.
Go straight to Sears’ swim shop.
Go straight to Walmart’s swimsuit selection.
Go straight to Macy’s swimsuit selection.
Go straight to Dick’s Sporting Goods sport swimsuits.
Go straight to LL Bean’s swimsuit deals.
Go straight to J.Crew’s swimsuits for summer.
Go straight to Land’s End swimsuit deals.
Go straight to Victoria’s Secret sexy swimsuits.

Wow! Thanks for doing the research. I can’t tell you how much time (and money!) this will save.

@Angela Yay! I’m so glad you saw the post and found it helpful. It took me awhile to compile, so I hope many people use it. Where do you think you’ll buy a suit?
Michelle Ventresca says
For the past few years, I have bought my swimsuit at Land’s End, because I am amply-blessed in the busom department and I need a suit that supports. I do always wait for the sales, as you said, they are on the expensive side. I think I paid $60 for the last one, which I didn’t even wear last year, so I won’t need a new one this year or next!
Bargain Babe says
@Michelle Ventresca Land’s End has great sales. I think $60 is reasonable for a swim suit that you can use two or more years, though I try to get mine for $30-$40 and then wear then two+ years. Depends on how much action they get.

I love Lands End because it’s one of the few places that has a good selection of petite clothing, swimsuits included. Another great things is that you can also find Lands End clothing in some Sears stores; just use the store finder on the Lands End website to see if there’s one nearby. I was just at a Sears store with a Lands End section the other day, and they do have Lands End swimsuits out right now. They have several styles and sizes to choose from, although the selection is more limited than their website. Occasionally you can find sales in the Lands End section for 20% off, or if you keep an eye out you may be able to find a Sears coupon that can be used on Lands End apparel (unfortunately most of them say they exclude Lands End in the fine print).
Also, anything you order from Lands End online can be returned at Sears for free, so if you get a swimsuit that doesn’t fit you don’t have to worry about paying to ship it back (also the purchase will be refunded to your card much sooner)! I try to wait and make my online Lands End purchases when they’re having a sale or free shipping promotion. I don’t usually have to wait long because they frequently have sales and promo offers.

@N. Davis You’re right, the Land’s End – Sears connection makes it a lot easier to return items and saves money. I’ve seen plenty of Land’s End sales in Sears stores, but the markdowns are not usually as big as online.
It sounds like you’ve got a good system down between the two brands/retailers and are making the most of it!
So did you buy a suit this year? How much are you going to spend?
N. Davis says
I bought two tankinis on clearance from Lands End last fall, so I won’t be buying a suit anytime soon. I scored an awesome deal on those swimsuits, too: $14 for the tankini tops and $10 for boy short bottoms!

If you’re coming to Florida and you can wait to buy your suit please do so! Our selections are run year-around and new season suits extra arrive early too!
PS: Our Sams Club has had at least 10 new season choices since January!

Ok. I happened upon a tankini at sams. I wanted my size in a different color. Online sams shows no swimsuits. Any ideas? Can’t beat 20 bucks for an entire suit

@Jo Have you tried getting a Sam’s employee to call other locations to see if the suit is in stock at another store? Perhaps they can ship it to your local store for pick up – or ship to your house for a fee. Good luck!!!
