Thanks for the links for the costumes but what I really needed that you supplied were the deals on the candy! We seem to spend a lot more on candy then we do on anything else doing Halloween.
Amanda’s solution is:
I don’t know if you guys have a BJ’s Wholesale, but last year we bought some Fruit snacks to hand out on Halloween because we had a coupon for $2 off. This year when we got our BJ’s coupon booklet, there was a buy one get one free coupon for the fruit snacks! The box of Scooby Doo Fruit snacks come in a 42 count for $6.99 so with the coupon you get 84 of them for $6.99. BJ’s also tends to have extra coupons at the store or from customers leaving their booklets behind because they used all the coupons they wanted leaving sometimes coupons that you want! We were able to get 6 boxes of them for only $20.97! For one of those big bags of candy it is usually over $10 per bag and you usually run out unless you buy 3+ bags! Not to mention, any leftovers that you might have are great snacks to put in the kids lunches for school! 🙂
Amanda’s trick works at any warehouse sale, assuming you can track down the coupons. What other ways are you saving on Halloween treats?

I ALWAYS buy candy the day after Halloween when it’s 50% off and freeze it.
Yes, it really works. All kinds of candy, for a whole year.
Never thought to hand out fruit snack. Great idea considering you won’t feel guilty about putting the leftovers in the kids lunch boxes.
