I’m launching another email subscriber drive next week. Two readers will win $25 gift cards: one will go to an existing reader who already receives my emails, and another will go to a new reader who signs up during the drive.
But I’m putting the power of deciding which gift cards to give away in your hands. Last time Starbucks was tres popular. Whichever option gets the most votes will be the ones I buy!

Except for Amazon, the top vote-getters are all places for everyday, practical spending (food, gas), not luxuries (lattes, music), so I guess we who follow BB are mostly already frugal types. Hpwever, when I get a gift, I like for it to be something that I don’t have to buy anyway, but instead something that feels like a treat I might not otherwise pop for.
I vote for Trader Joe’s. Yes, it’s frugal to get Gift Cards for stuff you will buy anyway.
I agree with frugal dad, getting a gift card for something you wouldn’t normally spend money on is kind of like getting a reward for being frugal.
I would like the gas card because we could use the money saved to pay down debt. Thanks for the opportunity to win!
I voted for Vons, need food! I am actually off on disability for 6 weeks, maybe longer. EDD only pays for 5 weeks, and they delay payments ouch!!! Food beats out coffee.
Target! Thank of all the great stuff you could get!
Thanks Bargain Babe. It’s always fun to have a chance to win something USEFUL. I have been with you since the beginning and have gotten loads of good tips.
Any place but WalMart whose low prices cost us taxpayers money to support their low wage earning employees iwth food stampls.
I’d like a gift card to Starbucks. I normally make my lattes at home, so this would be a treat.

I voted for Walmart! They have such great prices!!
Why not a VISA gift card – this way the person winning could use it anywhere they desire – taking advantage of sales. The same markets and/or gas stations or shopping stores may not be in everybody’s area. This way everyone could participate AND you are not pressured to go to any one place in particular.
I agree with frugal dad, however, Target offers me the choice to buy something special I nmight not otherwise buy.
I agree with J. A VISA gift card would be ideal…second choice: Trader Joe’s.
There is a fee to buy a prepaid Visa card to the buyer and they are not always accepted.
Stick with a store. I really enjoy your blog. Good luck to you as you combine what you learned last week with your journalism experience.
Love Target! Would love to win a gift card to that store!
Umm, I’m a bit of an editing and proofreading nazi (sorry!) and I think you meant to say “Which gift card DO you want to win?”
Do I win for proofreading!?!!
Love love love your website – it’s helped me so much!
Gas would be my vote. Since you can’t use coupons at a gas station a free gift card would do the trick.
I love Target too they rawk!! Trader Joes’s would be nice if one were near to one–but I’d def choose Target over TJ’s.
I vote for Trader Joe’s or Target. Thanks Barbain Babe. You’ve made me a better shopper.
I’m with Sylvia who said Trader Joe’s or Target. Please, please, please don’t choose Wal-mart. Some of us won’t go near the place because of its employment and business practices.
Thanks, Babe, for all the great tips you’ve shared with me.
Marlene, readers get to choose which gift card they win, so it’s not up to me! 🙂 But I wouldn’t worry about Wal-Mart winning, the store is a distant third.
The Starbucks card would be considered a splurge…so I think that one would be the “real” treat.
Trader Joe’s is #1 in my book always. My wife and I are planing to move from Los Angeles to Summerlin an area just outside of Las Vegas, within the next 12 months. And, found out there is a Trader Joe’s right in the area! Thats a double win for us! Possibly the best frugal area left in the country.
I SAY OTHER whiich would be a visa or american express gift card.
Then we can buy whatever we want:)
