The number of people underemployed and unemployed is growing, and there seems to be negative wage growth, so no, I don’t think the recession is anywhere near over.
Foreclosures will likely continue, nobody wants to sell because housing prices are so low, and nobody wants to buy because they think they’re going even lower.
It’s not Jimmy Carter-style malaise … but it’s malaise nonetheless.
No, we are not done yet. The small construction company I work for has been just squeeking by….every month we teeter on bankruptcy. My pay has been cut, my hours have been cut….my insurance is in jeapordy. Never in my life have I ever been in a situation like this. I don’t imagine we are the only company in this situation. Many more may fail…..soon.
