Reader Dianna emailed me to brag about an awesome deal she scored. Her tip for those who want to score bargains: shop freight stores! She writes:
Went to my favorite freight store this weekend, A to Z, and found these amazing products: Olay Regenerist Eye lift serum and Loreal Youth Code Serum both marked down to $3.50 ea. Normally they are about $15-20 each. I am not afraid to mix products, they work together, and my face is thanking me for the purchase. Also. I found a ceramic planter for $8; retails about $16.99-19.99. As I mentioned before, if you live in an area that has freight stores, you can find some pretty good deals, just make sure to check expiration dates, and there’s not too much damage to the packaging. I go to this store once every other month, mainly to look for specific items, sometimes other deals are too good to pass up.

I’ve never shopped at a freight store, but love outlets. Similar, no? One of the ways I save money on beauty and skin care products is by shopping cosmetic company outlet stores (CCO). These outlets sell overstocked (and discontinued) makeup and skin care. The prices are rock bottom and you can stock up on your favorites before they’re gone. Don’t worry! You won’t be putting old stuff on your face. Some makeup and skin care products last years if stored properly. There aren’t many CCOs around, but if there’s one near you give it a chance. The closest one to me is far so I don’t hit the outlet often.
Have you shopped a freight store or a CCO?

What is a freight store and how do I locate the nearest one?
@Leslie Freight stores are stores that buy damaged (usually packaging) items or overstock from other stores and sell it at a discount price. Think dented cans, ripped packaging…
I would search online for the nearest store. None near me. Sigh.
