Another tip for preserving herbs: take an ice cube tray, chop basil and freeze in broth. When making your next sauce or soup drop in an “ice basil/broth cube”! Can do this with any herb!

Olive oil also works depending on how you use your spices. You can also freeze fresh lemon juice the same way or almost any fruit that you use in baking. Buy them in season when they’re less expensive, cook them down a little and freeze. Use within a few months for best results.
