Super savvy spender (20-29 points) — You are the master of your credit card, a coupon queen, and a savvy shopper. You have a nose for bargains and aren’t afraid to ask for a discount. Keep it up!
Sometime saver (10-19 points) — You are on the fence when it comes to saving money. At times you use self-control, weighing purchases before buying a sale item with a coupon. But at other times you splurge impulsively and threaten your budget. Remind yourself of your financial goals to strengthen your saving urges.
Budget blunder (0-9 points) — Saving money is apparently not a priority — but it can be if you pay greater attention to where you are spending. Drag out your credit card statements from the past 12 months and add up how much you spent on housing, eating out, groceries, travel, saving, and other categories. How does your big spending picture look? Is there anything you want to change?
What was your score???
The first two questions can not be answered properly as I remember….the price of the item would affect my buying…and the question do I need it right-away…
Yeah – I got 21 points. I really try not to go over board on anything. Disciplined myself , learned from my mistakes 😉
I scored 23, which rated better than I expected. I’ve long been a careful shopper, regularly clipping and using coupons, and looking for the best buy on products. I do try to buy staples in advance of need, since I know I’ll be using them before long. I do wait at least a week before making any major purchases (such as clothes from a catalog), as it’s easy to go overboard if you don’t give it some thought.
Since I do most of my buying at the Discovery Thrift Stores, I don’t wait 3 days to decide because then the item won’t be there anymore. 18 was my score. This year I vow to ask a merchant for a discount!
@May Good point! Sometimes you can’t wait because an item will be gone by then. It is tempting to buy stuff you don’t need in this situation, so I wish you much will power.
