I recently created a new threshold that I must pass to purchase a non-necessity: I must dream about the item. Until I get this sign, I am stuck window shopping.
I created this threshold after having a fabulous dream about bras. Now, I’m not saying bras are not a necessity, they are. But buying more bras when you have a sufficient supply makes them a non-necessity.
Being bored with your supply does not, in my book, make them a necessity.
I wanted to tell Hubby about my new threshold. I was sure he would endorse the idea. What were my chances of having more shopping dreams?
“I had an amazing dream,” I said.
“About what?” Hubby asked from…… under the covers.
“Bras. I dreamed I discovered four of them in a handicapped bathroom stall and they fit me perfectly,” I said.
I didn’t tell Hubby that in my dream the bathroom was at a summer camp, which, in my dream state, gave the under garments an aura of innocence. Plus, they were barely used.
In my dream, it made me so happy to discover them.
“No, no, no,” Hubby groaned. “That’s not enough. The threshold is higher.”
What? And I was just about to run out to Victoria’s Secret.
Hilarious!
love,
your NY sis
reminds me of the 30Rock episode where Lemon is wearing a bra held together with Scotch tape…that’s when you know you need a new bra!
I must have missed that one. Sounds funny! ~Julia
That is so funny! That has always been my standard measure. If i dream about it, I gotta have it!!
