Child Care is, by far, our most costly expense. Full-time day care for our infant costs over $13,000 year. It’s wonderful care and we’re glad to have it but I’d like for there to be more affordable options out there for working parents.
I’m at a point in my life where most of the really big ticket items in my life are at a reasonable level, and my kids are grown and out of the house. I’m frustrated by the continually rising utility rates/fees/rip-offs, and would like gasoline to be economical enough to allow me to take occasional long weekend trips.
I’m self employed and insured with Kaiser. Each year the premium goes up. This year I went into a new ago bracket and my monthly premium went up 24%, and prescription costs doubled. In addition to that, I have a copay.
