I’m starting a week-long training program at USC called News Entrepreneur Boot Camp this Saturday, which means:
- For the next six days I’m going to be learning business skills from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. (I like to think of it as a one-week MBA)
- I’ll be blogging a bit about what I’m learning
- A fabulous selection of readers and guest bloggers will be sharing money-saving tips every day
- Bargain Babe emails will continue uninterrupted (sign up here if you don’t already receive them)
- I will respond to email as soon as I can but expect some delay
- I’m taking Friday afternoon off to rest up for boot camp!
Oh i so envy you being able to take some time to learn!
I can’t wait to read all about it.
I admire you BB!
We’re going to expect even bigger and better blogs from you.
Have fun learning, you lucky kid.
I’m sure the classes will be valuable, but there is no reason to stop learning upon your return. For instance you can always take advantage of the Small Business Development Center of Santa Monica and other, similar Centers who put on one-night seminars on topics your boot-camp may not cover. The Santa Monica SBDC charges about $25 per person per class and teaches you how to obtain a SBA loan, write a business plan, prepare and understand a contract, hire and handle employees, business debt collection, protecting your intellectual property and whether to be a corporation, LLC, or some other business form. The classes and/or the free consulting you can obtain, should be a nice compliment to the knowledge you are about to gain. Enjoy!
Enjoy! I bet it will be a lot of info to soak up all at once but I’m sure it will be a useful experience.
