UPDATE: We just got our power back on! The ice cream was starting to melt even though we did not once open the freezer, so I had a bowl with chocolate sauce. Yum! I’ll be back tomorrow with lots of freebies, coupons, and tips!

Hi folks,
We lost power this morning but are dry and safe, the worst of Hurricane Irene having already passed.
Not sure if I’ll be blogging tomorrow, but I’ll try my best to restart as soon as possible!

Glad you made it through with just a temporary loss of power.
Jeepers, Julia, I forgot that you moved East. I’ve followed you since your Daily News days, and can’t wrap my brain around your move.
My thoughts are with you and everyone else who has gone thru the Big Blow. Stay safe.
My brother in VA came through with no power loss or property damage, although he’d had power and water loss at other times. I’m glad to hear that your power is restored, as RI is in a very vulnerable spot on the East Coast. And isn’t ice cream with chocolate sauce just what is needed at times like these???
I am so fortunate to live in California. The biggest disaster we have to worry about is an earthquake. Which is still scary!
My grandson starts college in New York this week. He arrived there just in time for Irene. Luckily, he got moved in before and after the worst of the storm. It was a bit of a shock for a kid from California.Hope you are OK with the results of the storm.
