This is a bargain I have been saving up for sometime, but last night I saw proof and had to spill the beans.
Land’s End return policy allows customers to return clothes and other items purchased through the catalog or over the phone at Sears, which then sells the items at bargain basement prices.
My Uncle, who loves a deal as much as I do, proudly showed me a lined red Land’s End coat he found for $69.99 (orig. $100) at his local Sears. He passed on the deal – only 30% off! – until he went up to the cash register to buy a long-sleeve mock turtle neck that was on sale for $10.
The turtle neck rang up for $3. Huh?
Turns out Land’s End gear was another 70% off. So he went back for the red coat, which looks similar to the one above, and paid $22 for it. What a bargain!
Thanks, Pete and Joy!
I’m sorry why was the coat only $22.00?
Julia, I love this. My mom constantly orders stuff from Land’s End that doesn’t fit (usually shoes as they are wide and short toed) and returns them to Sears. However, the Sears at Northridge has a teeny-tiny Land’s End section and I never see any markdowns there. Which one did your Uncle go to? We’ll have to check it out. Thanks for tip and good luck tonight! Go Trojans!
The coat: $69.99 x 70% off equals roughly $21. plus tax I presume.
We buy quite a bit of Lands End — we all wear it ..
They’re not exactly keeping it kosher as far as sizes go.
I have a jacket that I should have returned. It was a men’s small and is too small.
I got a super-cheap T-shirt in medium, and it’s too large … it’s cheap enough that I’m using it as pajamas.
I’m sort of in between small and medium, and Lands End tends to run a little big, but they’ve been all over the map recently.
That means I expect a lot of returns (and now that you mention it, we’ve done plenty of returns this way).
Sears N.Hollywood is pretty weak in Lands End, but the Northridge store is better, as is Woodland Hills.
