Did you watch last night’s episode of Extreme Couponing? If you missed it (I was watching Raising Hope) or don’t have cable (like me), here is a sneak peak!
The clip features two couponers, one a 20-something college student and another who proudly clears shelves. Someone’s got an ATTITUDE!
I watched this show when it first came out, and there were a FEW people that would do some good with some of their stockpile, but I stopped watching because it was making me sick. I cannot take the mentality that most of them display and it makes all the other modest couponers look bad.
@Shawna I know, it’s a guilty obsession of mine. I watch the Extreme Couponing previews even though I don’t agree with a “clear the shelf” mentality. Why don’t leave stock for another person who really wants to feed their family, too? It’s a good thing I don’t pay for cable or I would probably watch the entire show.
I agree with you, BB! Clearing the shelf is greedy and disrespectful to other families. Plus, food items have expiration dates on them that are usually about a year (or less) out from the purchase date; how can all that stuff be used before it expires?
I’d be more impressed if these folks donated the excess to food pantries rather than hoarding it.
