Make room for my belly in this year's costume contest!
Don’t forget to enter the Halloween costume contest to determine what Bargain Babe is going to be dressing up for on Halloween. The big catch this year is that I’m preggo! So far, some 65 readers have entered. Here’s how the contest works:
You suggest your most zany and frugal Halloween costume for me to wear.
The most unusual and fun costume is what I’ll dress up as. Bonus points for a costume my husband and I can do together.
I’ll prance around town in your costume and post a picture of me in costume. No matter how silly it is!
Comment with your idea for a Halloween costume by Oct. 19, 2011. That gives me about a week to put the winning costume together.
Looking for Halloween coupons? We got you covered (and will have an updated list tomorrow).
Congrat on the baby and for the costumes how about you and hubby go as Bunnies or a Victorian couple.
One trucker’s hat, one white tank top (doesn’t cover the belly), a little fake hair (some for the belly and some for the mustache) and an empty beer can. It’s a little tacky, but hilarious!
Spur of the moment thought – Your husband could be a lamp base and you, separately, a lamp shade.
Congrats!!! Well, I think you 2 should dress up as a Baker (hubby) and you an Oven with a bun in it 🙂 He could wear a bakers hat & apron with flour on his face, and you could paint a big cardboard box like an oven, with the front cut to ‘open the door and see the bun’. You could attach strings to the box and slip it over your shoulders. FUN! 🙂
Wear a bright orange t-shirt and glue black felt eyes, nose, mouth, etc. of pumpkin on your belly.
I think you should put on a bikini top, paint your belly like a beach ball and add a sarong. Hubby can wear a Hawaiian shirt and whatever bottoms he wants… you’ll be beach bums!
You could be the winner of a hot dog eating contest (make up a contest and use sharpies to design a shirt along with a blue ribbon or trophy). Your husband could be the emcee, the judge, the hot dog, or even the trophy.
I think you should be a pregnant nun!
When I was preggers, I was a Jack-)-Lantern and looked very cute. I bought a big orange shirt at Express and wore it with black leggings. I taped black sonstruction aper eyes nose and mouth
Someday when I get preggers I want to go as a slow cooker! Use two hula hoops with fabric wrapped around to be the cooker part, and find an actual lid at goodwill for a hat. Just drill some holes in it with a small bit and tie some ribbon to it to tie under your chin. Glue on an old stove knob and use use a sharpie to write ‘off, low, high, warm’ on the front. 🙂
