Gordon is a former librarian and the blogger behind MashupMom.com. She too was once a novice and struggled to save money on groceries. No more. She writes:
The cool thing about couponing is you will start to see savings almost immediately. On my first planned couponing trip to the store, I saved 60 percent off my bill with coupons: I was hooked! Some very simple changes in the way you shop and match up coupons with sales will have a dramatic impact on your bottom line at checkout.
The 254-page book is divided into four sections that cover coupon basic, using coupons effectively, online and mobile couponing, and planning and organizing. This book is intended for those new to couponing or struggling to get better at saving money. If you shop organic, Gordon shows you how to coupon for organic, natural, and allergen-free foods.
I’ll announce the winner of “The Complete Idiot’s Guide to Couponing,” by Rachel Singer Gordon on Monday, May 29! To enter leave a leave a comment telling me about your failed attempts at couponing.

Coupons expire before I can use them, just can’t seem to remember to bring them with me to the store.
Not having coupons with me when I need them and thus missing out on a great deal.
I have an entire drawer full of coupon inserts. I always intend to cut them “later”, but later never comes.
I forget I have a coupon for something or it expires before I get a chance to use it.
I bought a newspaper subscription so that I can be a coupon master. I started a “coupon vault” (what my fiance calls it) and used them for about a month and then the newspapers started piling up. I just got so busy between work, school and keeping up with my toddler!
A certain craft store that always has a great percentage off coupon but it is not good on sale items. The things I want are always on sale so I can never use the coupon.
I have coupon binder, baseball card dividers, and mixed coupons and im lost! I cant seem to figure it out!
I try my hardest carry hundreds of coupons with me 24hrs/day but only save 30% how can I save 50% or more
The worst is when I print e-coupons and then dont use them in the end. I feel guilty for wasting the printer paper.
I share my coupon inserts with others and in return sometimes get extra coupons for items I use and need, so this is helpful to both parties. It is wonderful to match up coupons with a sale. I try to put my saved money from coupons usage in an envelope each week. It is great to see how it really adds up.
I am just starting my couponing endevor. I could use all the tips I can get.
I cut coupons and try to use, but I get lazy on putting the coupons in the coupon organizers and will let a huge bunch pile up–they don’t save me money if they don’t get into the file to be taken into the store.
I find myself trying to use all the coupons I get before they expire even if its off of the full price item. Would love to learn the correct way to get the most savings.
