A time I really relied on my neighbors was when my children were just born. It was winter time and I couldn’t get around much. They helped me by picking up things for me when they did their shopping and visiting and keeping me company/

I still rely on the neighbors for good company, checking on things when we’re away, and for helping me out when our pipes froze/broke this winter, among other things. Friendly neighbors build strong communities!
Our neighbor took care of our mails and lawn when we were away for a short vacation.

Several years ago, on a hot July day, we had a fire break out on our property. We live in a rural area with a volunteer fire department, but some of our neighbors came with buckets in hand to get water from our creek to fight the fire until the firemen arrived. Then, because the fire caused an interuption in our electrical service, they brought us ice and cold drinks. You gotta admit – those are great neighbors!
Our neighbors helped us take in our trash cans after the trash was collected when we were away on vacation.
I use neighbors for house sitting and plant watering while away on vacation. It’s so nice to have great neighbors!
My neighbors keep an eye on the house when I’m away, it always gives me peace of mind!
I relied on neighbors once when we go away for a weekend to keep an eye out.
Last week, my next door neighbor let me borrow one of his double-breasted suits for me to wear to an interview. He was even nice enough to take me to a market and back last month. I should also mention that a neighbor above me has offered me rides to downtown if he sees me walking in his direction. I don’t always say yes.
After my father died, the local church and our block neighbors brought food and prayer shawls. It made a real difference in the first few weeks.
Our next-door neighbors shared a wonderful cat with us for years. Kitty had the run of both properties, and lots of affection.
We actually have neighbors who are always eager to share their baking with us. We help them out (they are seniors) when it comes time to snowblow the driveway for them and in turn, they always come by later with a freshly baked banana bread for our willingness to help them. They are great.

Sarah is correct but I can add another former set of neighbors who were a blessing to us. They lived to the east of our home and were always watching out for our property and our well being since we both work. They were both retired and were around all the time and that was a great relief to us…not having to worry about our home, knowing they were close by and looking out for us. They got older, fell ill and had to move. We miss them greatly.
i relied on my neighbors when my car got stolen from my driveway they helped out so much and we got the car back fast with their help! I thank them everyday!

i relied on my neighbors when there was a tornado warning and i was locked out of my house, they took me in and help me safe until it was okay to go back outside, and i am so thankful that they did that, that was a lfie or death situation!
we have a pipe break in front of our house, our kind neighbor notified us of the water leak
I twittered @rfin
We were cutting a tree and the chainsaw quit working after we had already cut more than half way through the tree. Our neighbor saw we were having trouble so he brought his chainsaw over for us to use to finish cutting the tree down. He’s a very nice man!
I was in a terrible car accident 18 years ago..at that time I had a 3 year old and 7
year old…my next door neighbors were a a super big help in watching our kids while i was recuperating and while my husband was at work
i time when i relied on my neighbors was when, my yard was scrapped up and we had no place to run our moving sale, so our neighbors let us use there yard! that was very nice of them 🙂
