I’m surprised to see that college professor ranked as a top-paying job, but I suppose if you consider that the job comes with four months vacation that changes things. It’s interesting that three of the top ten jobs are in the health care industry and two are in tech. I’m surprised doctor and lawyer don’t appear on the list. Is your job on the list?
I am not in my profession. I am still going to school. But when I graduate and take the exam, I will be a Certified Public Accountant.
My profession is on there (CPA), funny, cause I am studying for the CPA exam now. It has been a great field to be in, I started in public acctounting and am now in consulting.
My husband is a college professor at UC and he does not get 4 months vacation-where did you come up with that? In fact, he teaches summer school and has off about 1 month- which he spends most of prepping for classes and catching up on research projects. It does pay well, compared to a regular teaching job, I guess, and it should. It takes a lot of work to earn a Phd!
I’m with Barb – I work at Brown University (not a professor) and the faculty here don’t get 4 months of vacation. During the summer, things are more relaxed and many faculty in my department don’t keep the same, more stringent hours as when classes are in but they are here working with members of their research groups, doing their own research, writing journal articles, teaching summer school, getting ready for the fall semester, etc.
No, elementary teacher is not on the list!
