Get a free Grand Slam breakfast at participating Denny’s this Tuesday, Feb. 3 between 6 a.m. and 2 p.m. Coupons will be available for the first 1,000 guests at each location. A very limited number of rainchecks will also be available for eaters who come by but can’t stay.
The freebie was advertised during the Superbowl!
Thanks for the tip. I love Breakfast.

Hi Julia. I like the layout of your new blog site. Informative just like the old site. I couldn’t believe my ears when I saw the commercial for a free grandslam meal. Of course, I think it’s great. But I did not know about the coupons you had to get to guarantee a free meal. Therefore, I will do my best to wake up as early as possible and eat a nice, almost free (I’ll tip) breakfast.
Coupons aren’t necessary to guarantee a free meal. They’re merely being distributed for future purchases.
My friend and I got up at 5:30am this morning. We arrived at Denny’s about 10 minutes after 6am. There were some people already there as we expected, but there were only 7 groups in front of us, and we were seated in about 10-minutes. The breakfasts were great. I don’t eat eggs, so I asked our server if it would be possible to substitute my eggs for extra sausage or bacon. She politely told me, “No.” The food arrived in a few minutes with just enough time to finish playing two card games. I gave my eggs to my friend and I was given two strips of bacon in exchange. The meal was satisfying, and we left a tip for the good service. My friend and I talked about going back out in a few hours and get a second FREE grandslam, but by then, the line was ridiculously long. I got a ticket anyway, and we went off to do some errands in the meantime. When we returned, there were still nearly a hundred groups ahead of us. I’m sure not all of them were there any longer, but there were still a lot of people hanging outside the entrance. We decided the wait was too long and gave up. In hindsight, we should have gotten tickets right away, so we can avoid the rush the next time Denny’s or another restaurant offers up a free meal.
Glenn,
Sounds like you had perfect timing. I went by this afternoon and the line was about 80 people deep at 12:30 p.m. I decided not to wait and asked the host twice for a coupons booklet. First he told me to come back after 4 p.m. but then I asked again and he gave me a booklet with 25% off and BOGO free coupons. With all the people in line I wonder how Denny’s is going to come out ahead on this one.
I first tried the one in Granada Hills, and the line was about 80 deep at 6:15! Tv cameras were there.
So I went to the one in Canoga Park, and was seated in a little under 20 minutes. Friendly service. On the way out, I saw how much longer the line had gotten. Probably around 100 people.
