Some say daily deal sites push consumers to make impulse buys on discounts they want, but don’t need. If you have buyer’s remorse, here are four sites where you can sell your unused or unwanted daily deals.
CoupRecoup – Bargain Babe wrote about this daily deal resell site a year ago. It works more like Craigslist as buyers contact each other and negotiate payment methods. To sell,
post your deal and name the price. To buy, contact the seller. From what I saw, many people use Paypal. Since the site is not involved in handling the payment, you do risk getting scammed. If this were to happen, you can report the user with the site so they can investigate and get the police involved if necessary.
Lifesta – You can buy and sell daily deals on this site. Buyers are not charged any fees beyond the price of the deal and are guaranteed a refund if they find out within 60 days that an offer has expired or already been used. For sellers, you can list as many deals as you want. Fill out a registration form and presto! When your deal sells, you’ll be notified and the money will be added to your account. There is no contact with the buyer. Lifesta will charge you $0.99 plus 8% of the sale price. Note: we wrote about Lifesta months ago in a sponsored post but our decision to include it here was entirely our own.
DealsGoRound – Sell or buy deals on this site. For your protection, sellers are cross-checked with Paypal, but if you discover within 60 days (and before the deal expires) that the voucher is fraudulent, you’ll get a full refund. To sell your deals, import your vouchers from other daily deal site and wait for it to be sold. Listings are free, but the site does take a 10% cut if the item is sold.
SmartySaver – You have to sign up for this site to buy or sell a deal. It’s super easy, just basic information. Then list your unused deals for free. When your deal sells, SmartySaver takes $0.99 plus 7% of the sale price to cover credit card fees and other costs. There are no buyer fees other than the price of the deal. If you find out the deal is used or invalid within 30 days, you can get a refund.
What impulse buys have you bought on daily deal sites and later regretted?
i only buy coupons that i know i will use within 90 days, regardless if there is a 1 year expiration date.
If I haven’t used the coupon within 90 days, i know I will never use it and i give it to a friend.
I have learned from experience not to buy coupons for businesses that are greater than 10 miles from my home.
Also, I now check the ratings and reviews for restaurants before I buy the coupons.
I think this is a great idea. So many people end up with daily deal regret because of expiring coupons or coupons they don’t end up needing.
A great site to use to find these kinds of discounts and sales in your area is http://www.dailydealpool.com. They’ll send you a daily email, letting you know if there is any savings to be had.
