Julia, is it just me or does it seem that the teeny percentages off that are only good online basically are negated by the cost of shipping and taxes? Things like Walgreens or Borders, sometimes it’s more cost efficient to just go to the store. I prefer coupons where it is good both online and in store – what’s your take?
Lisa, you bring up a great question. Sometimes the percentage discount is not really enough to make up for shipping and taxes. There are other factors to weigh as well, like the time and gas it takes to get to the store and the convenience factor of being able to shop from home. In the store you can check out an item and make sure it’s really what you want. Depending on what you are purchasing (often times you automatically get free shipping if your bill tops a certain amount), one option may be better than the other.
Thanks BB! I just ordered 5 Sunset gift subscriptions for Christmas!!
The Borders coupon can be used in the store if you have a (free) Borders membership card. You can either print out the coupon or bring in the code. I use it regularly to add to our already overflowing library. Saves postage/handling, but costs gasoline. You decide.
Lisa, this particular Borders coupon can be used in the store if you have a (free) Borders membership card. You can either print out the coupon or bring in the code. Saves postage/handling, but costs gasoline. I’m on your side, tho, and prefer to use coupons in person. I don’t usually order online because S/H always takes a big chunk out of my wallet. Except for Amazon, which offers free shipping on plenty of good stuff…(books)
