A Macy’s jewelry coupon got me thinking about Valentine’s Day. It seems a little early, but the holiday is 19 days away. So what are you thinking of getting your sweetie this year? How will the recession impact your decision?
I am thinking of asking Hubby to agree to homemade presents. Not exactly ground-breaking, but it leaves plenty of room for sentimental gifts. I could:
- Find a picture from when we were dating and make a poorman’s picture frame out of thick cardstock (that I already have)
- Make a picnic dinner and take him to the beach
- Write a short poem for him to tuck in his wallet
What would you add you this list? Leave a comment to share your ideas.
i would have him make a dinner with me and get some candles that works or scence he likes ebay find something he there so it wont cost as much
Lingerie is always a good gift for Hubby, and I only buy what fits me that is ONSALE… $25 or less. I Still can afford that!
Another great idea that doesn’t cost anything is a coupon book you print off the computer such as this is good for 1 backrub, this is good for 1 kiss etc etc.
this year im doing a treasure hunt… im putting notes on lollipops(they have v-day ones) that end up leading to me… the best present ever;) a couple other cute ideas- make a crossword puzzle, using clues from your realationship… dates, favs, etc. you could even glue it over the one in the newspaper for an added twist. instead of breakfast in bed you could do dinner in bed. make a message in a bttle. put sand in a bottle and label it “extra time”. glue a picture of you guys on a thin pice of cardboard then cut it like a puzzle.
You are so creative! I love these ideas and may use some of them myself. Thanks for sharing!
Last year for Valentine’s day, I did a poor man’s version of a website I had seen called “Panty Grams”. Instead of paying their high prices, I got some inexpensive (but very sexy) lingerie. I kept one half, and mailed the panties to him at his office to recieve ON the 14th. I realize playing with the US Postal Service is a bit of a gamble, but it worked for me, and he went crazy for it! He also liked getting the other half of the set when we got home 🙂
What a great idea!! And you can always put on the package “do not open until Feb. 14” if you are not sure about the timing.
