Throw An Inexpensive Oscar Party

The Academy Awards are this Sunday, Feb. 24. Will you be watching the Oscars? I can’t wait to see all the stars walk down the red carpet in their fancy clothes. I’m sharing a video by The Sorry Girls I found on YouTube that will give you cheap ideas to throw a shindig for friends.

The gals’ tips are simple and can easily be adapted to other parties like a New Year’s Eve soiree! I love their idea of writing down your predictions. Have you watched all the Best Picture nominees? I haven’t, but that won’t stop me from watching the ceremony while munching on popcorn.

Who do you think is taking home an Oscar? I’d love to hear your predictions!

@ Yazmin ~ Remember the TV show “Frazier”? We’re seeing Bebe Neuwirth, the actress and vocalist (B’way productions including “Chicago”) who played his psychiatrist-wife Lilith, in-concert tonight only at CSUN’s Performing Arts Center. Tomorrow, we go to one of our wonderful Sunday champagne brunch buffets.

@Diane and @Yazmin The mashed potatoes turned out great – and we have so many leftovers I’ll probably make shepard’s pie tonight or Tuesday. I overcooked the chicken, however. The asparagus was good. And homemade strawberry ice cream for dessert!

I’m not in the Oscar loop at all. I’ve only seen one or two movies that I *think* were nominated. My plans tonight are to cook a delicious dinner – garlic mashed potatoes, roasted asparagus, and baked chicken.
