In the second video I made for CreditCards.com, I talk about three ways to cut down on credit card offers and junk mail. Enjoy!

Scary. That’s the only way to describe this week’s preview of Extreme Couponing, airing tonight on TLC. The clip below is about a family that coupons so their 6-year old can be a beauty pageant queen.
Check out our Coupon Database for the latest grocery, drugstore, and magazine coupons. Each week we share the top grocery coupon matches and the top drugstore coupon matches, including many freebie items! How does watching the show make you feel? I feel guilty that I don’t use more coupons.

This looks like a really fun DIY project! Just think how fun it would be to go to a holiday party in these bad boys, and how much money you’d save compared to buying designer brands. I wonder how long the glitter really stays on, though…
This week’s clip of Extreme Couponing follows Bree, a 28-year-old mother who makes her own laundry detergent for $20 a year. How cool is that? Watch a brief clip, then scroll down to get her detergent recipe.

Loud. Brash. Egotistical. That’s how I would describe Ramit Sethi, the New York Times best selling author of “I Will Teach You To Be Rich”. Ramit was the keynote speaker at the Financial Blogger Conference I attended and presented at earlier this month. He kicked off his talk with this video, which ticked off a lot of frugal bloggers.
After the conference my friend, Jen from Balancing Beauty and Bedlam, chatted me up on Skype.
Jen: Ok, I just watched the video…Funny, yes, but a TOTAL insult to frugal bloggers. So, was it funny in the context of his talk, or if you are a frugal blogger sitting there, would you still have been totally insulted?
Longtime reader Glenn shared a dirty secret about hotel room safes. They’re not safe at all! He writes:
Do you ever use the hotel safe in your room? If so, do you know about the default combination code that can make your valuables “less safe” than you thought? If the answer is “No,” then you must check out a video that was posted on YouTube on Sept. 6th by skyrangerpro.
Here is the video Glenn mentioned. It’s been viewed more than a million times!
Thanks to my friend Emily who shared this video with me. It’s a great diversion on Friday. Cuz’ I know you’re bored at work!
This week’s Savings Experiment from WalletPop, my former employer, tells you how to pick a grill. Price are coming down now that summer is half over; the video recommended one that costs less than $200!
Wahoo! If you missed this year’s Frugal Fest, watch it on video! Many thanks to Herber Lovato for making this piece. Love the music!
I was invited onto NBC to talk about the Festival the night before (June 24, 2011). Check out my conversation with Ana Garcia on Nonstop LA!

I’m still plagued by guilt over Extreme Couponing, but this first clip touched me. Or go straight to the latest grocery coupons from Coupons.com and Redplum.

A mom of three scores free candy, clothes, and toys.
I’m getting addicted to Extreme Couponing – or the previews anyway because I don’t have cable so I can’t watch the whole show. Here are three recent previews.
Going bananas for free bananas!
Twins bring sass to the register.
Toothpaste for troops.
TLC’s new TV show Extreme Couponing premiers tonight at 9 p.m. EST/8 p.m. CST/6 p.m. PST. I watched four quick previews below (interspersed with ads, unfortunately) and had to stop when I got to a guy who has so much deodorant, food, and toothpaste that there is no way he and his family will be able to use it all before it goes bad. I hope he donates to charity!
I don’t have cable, but will you be watching Extreme Couponing tonight?
It’s been a long time since we’ve had any Friday Fun posts, but after watching this 3:22 video a handful of times, I wanted to share it with you. It’s about a talking shell that has a curious life of its own. Enjoy your weekend!
