The bag giveaway is in honor of two Albertsons stores in California (Alpine and Carpinteria) that no longer offer paper or plastic bags at checkout as of Apr. 27, 2011. Part of an Earth Day step towards greater eco-consciousness. These two Albertsons stores will sell a variety of reusable bags for $.30-$6. Shoppers can also leave plastic bags for others to use.
