I know where my office away from home is: Barnes & Noble, which yesterday started offering free wifi to customers. The bookseller promises, “No fees. No charges. Just log on.” Sweet!
B&N hopes that free wifi will encourage shoppers to purchase books online when they are sold out in the store.
Of course, this will take a lot of business away from Starbucks, which offers 2 free hours of wifi to customers who register their Starbucks card. The move will force other retailers to offer free wifi, which is good for consumers!
Thanks, Dad!
Super Wow! B&N is one of my vacation moment spots. I was missing the joy of wifi, sharing what I was reading, checking out url’s,etc, oh my, I might need a recliner and take my meds with me to stay longer, (smile)
Sweet! Better yet, if I can find an apartment next to a B&N, I can have free wifi for life!
Greg, do you think the WiFi signal will travel very far? I thought they would limit it to basically reach the store. But one can dream!
S-Weet!!! I live right across the street from The Grove location.
I don’t know how many hours I spent at B&N! In New York it’s way better than Starbuck. Just buy your cofee before going. I will just make sure I bring my macbook with me now on.
I thinki it’s important to remember to buy SOMETHING there, even just a coffee or you just might be taking space from a customer who is actually spending dollars at BN and not just tying to get someting for nothing. Something to think about…..
Oh Lisa, if you were my accountant you would see the sizable investment I have made via Barnes and Noble for personal and professional growth. This boomer has a valued seat always waiting for her. Thanks
