We are taking a few days off to relax and enjoy the coming New Year.
It’s been four years since I quit my reporting job at the Los Angeles Daily News and launched BargainBabe.com. I’m so glad I did.
The decision to work for myself has led me to connect with all of you, learn so much more about saving money than I thought possible, and to have a flexible work schedule that gives me time with my precious Lucy (recent pic below).
Looking forward to more freebies, inspiring stories, and saving money in 2013, starting on Wednesday!!!

PS. Don’t forget to make a sparkly 2013 New Year’s Eve headband!
Lucy wishes everyone a Happy New Year!

Hey BB,
I can’t believe I’ve been getting your frugal tips for 4 years! Thank you so much for all of your help and enjoy your time off!

That is such an adorable photo of precious Lucy! It’s such fun to have pix showing how much she’s grown over the first year. You’re a very lucky mom to be able to spend so much time with her at a time when change is almost constant. And I’m sure Dan is totally smitten, and firmly wrapped around her little finger. LOL
Warmest wishes to you and all your family for a happy, healthy and prosperous 2013, with hopes for more peace on earth!!! BIG OL’ HUGS ~ EL

A lot has happened in your life since your DN days! ( I kinda miss the $5 lunch bargains even though working full-time didn’t allow me to partake.) So what do you hope for in the next four years? Wild guess: a sib for Lucy?

@Diane I miss the $5 Lincoln Lunches too! They were so much fun to hunt down and my friends at the paper always wanted to come along with me for the adventure.
