The Subway deal: I remember when they offered the ‘free’ cards…and so many people had problems redeeming them. I don’t know anything about Saveology but I do know my local Subway doesn’t participate in such deals, and recently travelling to the northern part of California I found many of the special deals were not offered by several of the Subways I came across while driving. Seems the smaller outlets (attached to gas stations, etc) can opt out, and with no incentive to participate, they don’t.
I’m not blaming Subway franchisees…in fact I respect their business acumen.
The hype of the daily deals is wearing thin and I’ve unsubscribed from all but one of them.
I read (sorry, can’t remember where) an article about how people are losing interest for a variety of reasons and the companies that have offered them are discovering they don’t make new customers with their deals, rather, that they’re more problems than solutions.
I still receive emails from restaurant.com, woot.com and dailydeals.com but I’m buying less from them than I used to. Sometimes the list of things I have for things I need gets smaller and smaller–so I shop less and less…or wait for a better price.
I receive the emails from Brads Deals and that’s one site that continues to save me money and offer great deals–even if some of the deals are from places I have have shopped before.

Re: Subway card. You have 60 days to redeem the *certificate* you get from Saveology to get the actual card. In CA, at least, the card will never expire.
