There is nothing worse than spending money on full-sized beauty products that simply aren’t worth it. You can try scoring makeup freebies, but sometimes that’s not possible.
If you’re a cosmetic lover on a budget, Birchbox may be the solution for you. The start-up company charges subscribers $10 per month (including shipping!) to receive boxes with beauty samples and products, at right.
I haven’t tried Birchbox, but I am considering it because you can’t beat the price. Each box includes
four to five items. You’ll get a mix of makeup, skincare, fragrance, body, and hair care in each box. Expect your monthly Birchbox to have a theme. For example, in April the entire box included eco-friendly products to celebrate Earth Day.
No need to worry about receiving items not intended for your skin type. Birchbox tailors its shipments to its subscribers, who can specify their age, hair and skin type.
Birchbox works with several high end brands like Bare Minerals, Stila, and Kielhs to connect brands with beauty lovers. It does not pay for the samples. Birchbox makes money through affiliate links on its site for customers who want to buy full size products.
You can earn reward points by shopping on Birchbox.com, referring friends, and writing reviews. The best part is you can use these points to buy full-size products on the site!
