Now that nearly all the Black Friday ads have been leaked, it’s time to start comparing deals and figure out what’s hot this year. There are six steps to getting a Black Friday deal. For a full list of store ads, see below. Thanks to BFads.net for staying on top of these deals!
What’s hot this year
Blu-ray disc players – Look for prices as low as $60-$75. Walmart has an LG BD530 cheap Blu-ray player for $65 shipped, but it is often listed as out of stock online. Sears had the same machine selling for $75 shipping last week.
Best Buy has advertised a slightly lower quality Blu-ray player for $60 on Black Friday, but that requires waking up early Nov. 26. It is a doorbuster item, so there may only be a few for sale at this price.
Big HDTVs – Get an LG 50PK250 50″ 1080p Plasma HDTV for $695.95 shipped from 6Ave. A similar deal is Best Buy’s Black Friday
Door Buster for the Panasonic TC-P50U2 50″ 1080p Plasma HDTV, which is $699.99. The LG has a two-year warranty, while the Panasonic warranty is for one year.
Tip: If you are buying a TV bigger than 40″ make sure to get 1920 x 1080 pixels for clear pictures. Smaller than that and 720p is fine.
Nintendo DSi – This gaming console retails for $150 and discounts are rare. Target has it for $120 during their 4-day Black Friday pre-sale this weekend (see below for link). BestBuy has it for $150 on Black Friday and it includes the Mario Party Game. Only 12 are guaranteed per store, however. Kmart has the best deal if you want the Mario Party Game: pay $150 for the console and game and get a $25 Gaming Coupon on Black Friday. Unclear how many consoles + game packages they will have.
Acer 10.1″ Netbook – Target has it for $180 this weekend during their 4-day Black Friday pre-sale (see below for link). You can save $30 if you snag one of eight comparable machines – the Compaq 10.1″ Netbook – guaranteed at Best Buy on Black Friday.
