We believe in getting great deals every day because when you do the math, the little purchases, lunch out, a new top, a tank of gas, really add up.
Likewise, we believe in socking away everyday savings to reach our goals like buying a home in the next five years and retiring near the ocean. We work towards our goals and yours by combining the best savvy-spending advice and personal finance tips.
Our aim is to make each tip practical, personal, and useful. Or some combination thereof (but without fancy words like thereof). We focus on value for your money, not just the lowest price, so you will see high- and low-end deals featured.
We love to share our insights about saving money and we want you to do the same. Because as much as we can teach you about bargain hunting, together we can save a whole lot more.

If we write about a restaurant, retailer, Web site, or product it is because we believe there is a good deal to be had. Julia Scott is a jazz musician turned reporter turned blogger. She founded BargainBabe.com in January 2009 after giving up her reporting job at the Los Angeles Daily News. Julia loves to negotiate prices, even if it embarrasses her husband and friends! Her major savings goal is to be able to stay home with her first child, expected to arrive in January 2012. She also contributes to Mint.com, Fox Business News, and the Knight Digital Media Center.
Yazmin Cruz contributes regular blog posts, manages the BargainBabe.com Facebook and Twitter pages, and handles advertising. She is an all around savvy gal! Yazmin has written about living green and saving green. Her frugal education comes from her working class parents who taught her the value of money at an early age. Yazmin believes frugal living is not about deprivation, but about living better for less. She is an avid gardener in a community garden, frugal foodie, deal seeker, and thrift shop lover. She holds a bachelor’s degree in journalism from California State University, Northridge. Yazmin lives the frugal life in Los Angeles, CA where she strives to save money and live out her dreams for less.
