Jennifer sent a tip on a super useful website called SaveOnBrew. The site shows beer sales near you. Simple and awesome! She says:

I am not sure if you have seen the website www.saveonbrew.com yet. It is a website that lets you put in your zipcode any where in the US and will show you all the advertised beer on sale. This should be a great money saver with the upcoming holidays!

You can customize a search by zip code or address, type of beer, store, container type, and more.

From the site’s Press page: “On any give day you can find upwards of 300,000 specials on beer listed on our site, at more than 50,000 retal locations across the United States, and we continually add to those numbers on a monthly basis.”

I tested SaveOnBrew out with searches for Sam Adams and Sierra Nevada, and was surprised to find the prices very competitive. The site is easy to navigate and has many options to narrow down your search.

One thing that could be improved is sale listings from warehouse stores. Costco, Sam’s Club, and BJ’s were not listed. Trader Joe’s was not listed, either. Another annoying thing is that if you select a particular brand of beer, Blue Moon say, then you can’t directly switch to another brand. You have to choose “Select Brand,” wait for the site to load it’s list of brands, then select the brand you want to compare prices for.

Independent liquor stores are not listed, so if you live in a state where alcohol is sold separately (i.e. not at the grocery store), then you’re out of luck.
