It’s nice to know I’m not alone in having so many pending projects around the house! Thanks to everyone who entered! I’m newly motivated to complete my own DIY projects, including:
- digging up weeds in the side yard and replacing with wood chips, which I’ve already bought
- cutting, painting and installing molding in the kitchen
- finding matching grey vinyl siding and attaching to two small exterior patches currently covered in tar paper
- painting front porch (after removing peeling paint)
Of all your projects, I had special sympathy for
winner Pam, who faces the project mentioned most often: painting. Experts say it’s easy and relatively cheap, but it’s so hard to get the ball rolling.
I’ve been wanting to paint my living room for two years (she embarrassingly admits) but it’s overwhelming to just get started!
First runner up Debi shared a great trick for organizing a space: remove everything, then only put back what you want to keep. So much easier that way!
I have been putting off cleaning and reorganizing the shed. I hate that I can’t find what I am looking for when I know it is in there. Hopefully when the weather cools a little, I live in south central Texas, I am going to completely empty it and start all over. It will be a good time to sort through stuff for the yard sale we will be having in a couple of months.
Second runner up Liz is struggling with the inertia of a project that just won’t finish!
I’ve been working on a wedding scrapbook. I got married over 6 years ago. Every time I get inspiration, I get too busy to do more than 1-2 pages. And we keep moving. Someday it will be complete!
Third runner up Ashley is tackling a project I’ve wanted to do too many times to count.
Oh, I’d love to have a copy of this book! I’m usually pretty good about completing DIYs and projects that I initiate around my apartment, but I’ve been slacking on a large one: refinishing the $20 Craigslist dresser in my bedroom and replacing all of its hardware. Perhaps that’s my “rainy fall day” project!
