My fondest memory of school was the Glee Club. It was not sponsored by the school. It was ran by the students, totally voluntary. We actually went to school an hour early to practice daily, wow!

I would have to say my strongest memory of school was in the fourth grade and I happen to get elected as being the teachers pet not that I wanted to be and some of the kids didn’t like that so I would get beat up everyday for a week and some after school..I was afraid to tell.
so now if my boys get bullied at school I make sure that tell one of the teachers and I also bring it to the teachers attention also.
and another one of my strongest memory was in 5th grade we had this teacher Ms Dowlwimple she was scarry looking she actually had red eyes and white hair and the kids used to call her the devil but she actually was my favorite teacher..she was so kind…

My fondest memory of school is making the cheerleading team my junior year. I was quiet, shy and was so excited to be a part of something bigger. It changed my whole outlook on life to be a role model for others & all kinds of kids looked up to me. I opened up & became more outgoing. I am blessed with all the great high school memories and friendships I had in cheerleading too.
September 6th, 2011 at 8:30 am
My strongest memory is school is a basketball game where there was standing room only because the team we were playing had a D1 recruit playing for them.

I’d have to say my strongest memory from school was the first day of 9th grade. The school tried something new. They had us sign up for classes in the gymnasium. They had tables set up with teachers at each one. My friends & I were so busy socializing that we ended up at the end of the line. I ended up with some electives I would have never taken like Photography and Woodshop!!! I didn’t own a camera and I really ended up liking woodshop! Good times! At least I was with my friends! LOL!

My strongest memory of school is my High School History teacher who kept in touch with me throughout my college years and beyond.
September 6th, 2011 at 8:50 am
One of my best memories was coming home from school.
From the time I started Kindergarten until I graduated from High School. Our dog (a toy poodle) would be there waiting in the picture glass window on the footstool when I got off the bus. She was so devoted.

My favorite memory from school was my life-changing 3rd grade teacher. We did oral book reports, instead of written ones, and as I was rather precocious, I read Anthony & Cleopatra and acted it out as Cleo. Brilliant teaching/inspiring! She also was the first one to call me “Susie”, and I was never “Susan” again…

When I would come home from school.
Everyday from the time I was in Kindergarten until I graduated from High School my dog, a toy poodle, would be waiting for me in the picture glass window on a footstool. She was a good friend and was so devoted.
September 6th, 2011 at 9:20 am
My fondest memory in school is in 5th grade and a student was picked for us from the kindergarten class for us to read to, it was a wonderful feeling of being a role model.
September 6th, 2011 at 9:21 am
My most fond memory was in fourth grade when I was able to answer a math question on a test that our teacher had never taught us how to do. I got the answer through deductive reasoning. My teacher hugged me and said, “I am so proud of you Sheila.” That meant so much because I was shy and had little praise on the home front or at school.
September 6th, 2011 at 9:23 am
My strongest memory was my sixth grade teacher who encouraged me and knew how smart, but, shy I was
What a great teacher!
September 6th, 2011 at 9:26 am
My strongest memory in high school was when I really understood what the DARE program was about. I grew up with a drug-using father and when I learned that wasn’t the norm for a father it really changed my life!

My fondest school memory was 3 o’clock when the bell rang and we all walked to freedom.
September 6th, 2011 at 9:38 am
My most lasting memory of school was in 7th grade when my school advisor sat down with me and went over my test scores and told me I could be whatever I wanted to be. To have someone tell you that at a young age was amazing. From that moment on in my mind, there were no closed doors. The world was mine, all I had to do was grab for the brass ring.

Now that it’s long behind me, my fondest memory was a misspelled word on my second grade spelling test which resulted in Sister Mary Frances insisting my father come up to school! Unfortunately, I had misspelled the word, father, and came up with a four letter word that gave Sister an apolectic fit! When my Dad saw how I spelled father, he burst out laughing

I am already an e-mail subscriber. I have so many fond school memories but just last week I found an old picture from my very first day of school when I was 6. I remember being so happy to finally be a “big girl” going to school! I really wanted a Barbie bag but it cost $60 back in the 80s, and we couldn’t really afford it. When I found out that my parents had bought it for me, I couldn’t wait to show it to my new friends on my 1st day!

I remember my favorite assignment in creative writing. We had to eavesdrop in the lunchroon and make up a story about what we heard. I used my headphones and no one knew I was listening in.
September 6th, 2011 at 10:41 am
my fondest school memory was being pushed into pottery class, because all of the classes I wanted were filled. I was the most unartistic person ever and thought for sure I would fail this class! Boy was I wrong, my teacher was so patient with me and actually I was not that bad. I got an A! I still have a vase that I made proudly displayed in my house.
September 6th, 2011 at 10:44 am
Fondest memory is the last day of school. Then the next memory would be the first day of school as
it begins all over again.

I loved picking out which new outfit and shoes I would wear on the first day of school.
September 6th, 2011 at 11:21 am
One recess in grade school we spent the whole time throwing snow balls at the big bell on the side of the school. When recess was over it could not ring and only made a wierd buzzing noise. Of course everyone was called to the gym to get a lecture on why not to throw snow balls. But I remember everyone on the playground was in uniting blasting that bell with snow balls and it was very memorable.
September 6th, 2011 at 11:38 am
I remember my second grade teacher, who was so patient and, stood beside me while I wrote my name and, it had to be written perfectly. So to this day everyone tells me “you write so neat!’ Thank you Mrs. Thorsen.

My fondest memory of high school is meeting my best friend in 8th grade History class. We instantly hit it off with our dry senses of humor. We played in the high school band together, ran track, went to football games and had an all-around great time together. I am getting married next year and she is standing up for me. Without that moment, I would’ve missed out on 15 years of great friendship!

My very first day of school, I was so excited to get to ride the school bus. The only problem was I didn’t know where to go once I got off the bus at school so I wandered the halls until someone found me and directed me to my classroom.
September 6th, 2011 at 2:17 pm
My strongest memory of school was the year my family moved to the west coast from our very cold home in Northern Canada. I got a special back to school outfit and got all dressed up (think yellow cords and sweater with bright yellow flowers on it). I showed up for the first day with my winter outfit. It was about 80 degrees out and all the other kids were in tank tops and ratty old shorts.
It took me a year to outgrow that great first impression!
September 6th, 2011 at 2:17 pm
My fondest memory of school was when I won an artist award and my project was showcased at our public library.
September 6th, 2011 at 3:10 pm
The new outfit I wore when I started the 9th grade. I felt beautiful… Like I could take on the world… Or at the very least… my new school.
September 6th, 2011 at 3:13 pm
I went to a small private school in 4th grade, and every year around Christmas they would open this little gift shop where you could purchase small gifts for family or friends. It was such a treat to shop at school!
September 6th, 2011 at 3:29 pm
This goes way, way back to my elementary school days but I remember the day that President Kennedy was assassinated. One person told another and on and on. We were all hugging one another and crying. A sad day but I remember it as if it were yesterday.

I was constantly harrassed by a bully in my english class. She sat behind me and would whisper things to the other girls sitting behind me. I would turn around and she would just smile an evil smile. One day I walked up to her tapped her on the shoulder and very sweetly said, “Hey Lori.” When she turned around I punched her in the nose. I didn’t break it but it did bleed quite a bit. She never bothered me again. I can’t say we were ever really friends but we managed to successfully co-exist in the same junior high.

After my beloved mum passed, I moved to a small town–pop.1000. The 1st day at my new school the teacher told the class that, due to my bereavement, I would make art instead of doing lessons. In the deathly quiet of the other’s penmanship drills,I put all my care in the world into the walk from sink to desk with my tray of freshly moistened paints. It was everything to me that the watercolors did not run. Modern times (+ money) had missed this deep country hilltop. Our elementary school was a big creaky wood manse that tripled as the town hall/ fire&police dept’s too. It was a unique learning environment. We would disappear behind the stage curtains–then under the floor, during chorus, till the music sub had only a few voices left present; there was hand cranked peanut butter ice cream during show &tell; the principal + math teacher might cancel class for the 5th & 6th grades–to challenge us to volleyball matchs; we etched newsprint on gravestones behind our swings, and kooky kangeroo court punishments were the rule. My favorite was standing in a cirlce with a parachute, lifting it high, running underneath to sit in the resulting bubble as it cascaded softly down. Once, I got permission for me & friends to meet in the nurse’s office to write a play. The offıce had a mannequin with removable body parts; a standing, industrial size cylindrical fire extinguisher with a nozzled hose; + asstd abacus& flash cards. We threw organs around, played 52 flash card pıck up & tamboured the abacus–until we knocked over the fire extinguisher and coated everything with chemical foam. Good times. I have many memories of this school, but one incident stands out as the bookend to my 1st day.It is the day that a plane fell from the sky during recess. The sound made all us chicken little around. After scouting the scene & learning that although the pilot had perished, the body was not visible, the teachers brought us up the hill to view the wreckage nestled in the trees. I love that they decided to satisfy our curiousity. Even better, they then arrandged for us to have brief flights at a small airport one town over. The message was clear: keep flying.

I remember in 7th grade I was in Science class and in the 60′s they were not to up to date with shorts or mini skirts in school yet. My mother bought me a skort and I loved it I had a nice shape and I had nice shoes and top.. One day while we were listening to the teacher Mr. Anderson as Slauson Jr High he said the perfect example of a prostitute is.. Debbie please come to the front of the class and then he said I was the perfect example of what a prostitute looks like.. I ran out of class streight to the office and called my mom. Her and my dad came down to the school called him into the office and asked him if he was going to pay for my clothes. He said no they said then shut the he** up and I never had to go back to that class again… I will always remember that moment. But I still wore the skorts and then graduated to Mini Skirts…. Can’t keep me down ( by the way I love your site )
