It is a difficult choice between Debt Free U and How to Shop Free but I think I would like How to Shop Free! It’s not instructions on how to Shop Lift? LOL Anyway, Bargain Babe has been a real joy since my husband and I have been laid off now for over a year so budgets have been tight. I would definitely use the $250 at Macy’s for clothes. “How to Survive on a Teacher’s Salary” just might be useful to me, trying to exist on less than 50% of what I made working in the classroom! And the Macy’s gift card would come in handy for linens, bedding, kitchenware, etc. Since my grandson and his girlfriend are in a new (to them) home, they need lots of “stuff,” especially for the kitchen, as they’re both into learning to cook gourmet meals.

I would like the “Secrets of a Stingy Soundrel”. My father was one of those. People said he could make a penny scream and kept his house chilly all winter but when he died, He had a two Lexus’ in his gargage(paid cash). a very nice home(bought for investment purposes) and enough money in the bank(investments)that my mom could retire nicely. “How to shop for free” is the book i would choose. I am a college student now halfway across the country, and am completely independent. Back in LA I had all of the goodie/ freebie deals in my area up my sleeve. Now that i’m on the other side of the country, I need to learn some new basic tricks of the trade to become a pro again.
I would spend the $250 gift card on household items/ goods and other furniture I am going to need to buy once I move into my new apartment in a couple months.
I would also probably buy my mother a meaningful gift to show her my appreciation for the life she has given me and the way she has raised me. I am who I am because of her. She doesn’t pause enough to credit herself for this because she is busy worrying about the other 3 children in my family. She raised a set of triplets and my older brother [2.5 year gap] almost all on her own while working a full time job at work. She really deserves a meaningful gift. It would be so great if I could show her my appreciation with a nice gift.

I would love the book “Debt Free U”. And I agree with Connie Johnson on January 11th in the AM. I’m not fond of Macy’s because you can’t get much for the money you pay. I like to see LOTS of things in my shopping bags when I get home, for the small amoung of money I spent. I’d trade the gift card or sell it, and go to Wal-mart and get my family the necessities we need, not want. My motto is, “If it’s not on sale and I don’t have a coupon, than I’m not buying it”!

I would love to have a copy of the book “Debt Free U” because my husband and I owe so much money for years of fertility treatments. We tried to get pregnant for 6 years and our dream finally came true. It would be great to get some helpful tips on paying this off and getting our debt resolved. I’m going to school to be an elementary school teacher, which as everyone knows, is not exactly a financially lucrative career, so I could really use that book! I would love the book, “Debt Free U” as I could definitely benefit from learning how to achieve that goal. The Macy’s gift card would go towards buying future Christmas gifts (I use any gift card I get to buy gifts for future presents or trade it in for cash to buy gifts. That way, my budget still remains the same for bills and such but I am still able to afford gifts for special occasions.

My husband is laid off of work for a few months so we haven’t been able to afford to buy all the things that she needs. I would loooooooooooove to win the book “How to Shop for Free”! I have been coupoing for a few months now. I no longer mind going into the store with all my many many coupons, and don’t even turn around when the crab behind me starts to sigh or toe tap. My dear sister is a teacher and we both live in the SF Bay Area. I would like to get either the “Free Fun Guide“ or the “How to Survive on a Teacher’s Salary” book.
As for the Macy’s card, there are endless possibilities to spend on just me but in reality it would probably be new kitchen items, winter clothes/coats sales, kids clothes, etc.

I had to leave my job about 6 months ago because of the effects the stress of my position was having on my chronic illness. (MS, diag 11/09)
This past Christmas was the first Christmas we could not afford to buy gifts. I made peace with that but the one thing I had an issue with, was that I was not able to buy gifts for my step daughter who is 10. If I received the $250 Macys card, I would give her Christmas in February!

I would love a copy of “How to Shop For Free”. I have been working toward becoming debt-free since 2007 and my income has reduced by 2/3 since then. I really could use the tips to maximize the income that I do have to meet my basic needs and maybe even have a few wants that have been on hold for four years.

I am the wife of a disabled vet from the Iraqi war and we have 3 children. Our money is tight and we have to be careful. There is always someone in the family who needs something, so I rerely ever buy anything for myself for need or for fun. I would want “How to Survive on a Teacher’s Salary” because even though I am not a teacher (I work for a non-profit), I actually make less than a first year teacher; I think this book would help me budget wisely.
I would spend the gift certificate on a down comforter so that I could turn my heat down during the winter. I would also buy a new pair of running shoes so that I can start training for a triathlon.

I’d love to win the $250 Macy’s giftcard because Macy’sis always so great with its fashion-forward thinking. As a mom of 1 about to have my second daughter at the end of February, the fashion-forward clothes would e a great treat to have as a post-baby gift! In addition, I enjoy Macy’s selections of housewares. I love the towels and sheets departmentas well as the cooking section. I would love to wind How to Survive on a Teacher’s Salary. My husband has gone through 2 layoffs in 2 years and our only source of income now is my teacher’s salary. We are working hard to save and survive (and maybe eventurally even thrive!) but all tips are so needed! We love the challenge of scrimping! Our family would put the book to good use.

I am intrigued by the titile “How to Shop for Free”. I am all up for bettering my shopping techniques. Of course free, doesn’t get any better than that. If I get to a bookstore I will probably spend some time in a chair reading this book. The macy’s gift card honestly, I will swap it out for a different store. I would love to read “How to Shop for free”. Macy’s is my favorite store to shop. I head for the 75% off clearance racks on a week when there is an extra percentage off AND $10.00 off of $25.00 coupon in the paper. I am losing weight and I am in dire need of work clothes, so that would likely me what the majority of the giftcard would be used on.
