I’m am super excited to announce the latest giveaway for a $600 holiday shopping spree with yours truly at Sears. To be eligible to win, join the BargainBabe.com daily or weekly email list. (You can unsubscribe anytime, though I think you’ll find my money saving tips worthwhile). Enter by Nov. 21, 2010 at 11:59 p.m. EST to be eligible.
If you already receive my emails, you are automatically entered to win. Sears donated the gift card and flip camera for this contest.
I’m going to come along to share shopping tips and record the event with a flip camera, which means the shopping spree must take place in MA, CT, RI, or New York City. I can only drive so far!
With such a big prize comes a few more rules than in past contests.
- The winner must shop for a family of four, including a mom, dad, son, and daughter.
- The shopping spree will take place Nov. 29-Dec. 5, 2010 at a Sears in MA, CT, RI, or New York City.
- I’ll be recording the event with a flip camera, so if you’re camera shy do not enter.
- You must be 18 or older to be eligible to win.
- The reader will get to keep everything s/he buys with the $600 Sears gift card, of course!

@amanda Good question! Sears provided the generous gift card for this contest, and I am not able to match it for winners not in the north east. I’m sorry! My contests rarely have geographical requirements like this one, so stay tuned for the next contest.

That sounds like fun. I’m always up for a trip into NYC or CT. Would I have to bring the kids with me on the shopping trip or just buy things for them?

Andi has a question relevant for me! By chance, my husband, daughter and son are going to be in NYC EXACTLY THEN (what are the chances?!) while I stay home with the other 5 (count ‘em) kids. It would be great if they could do some extra shopping … including surprise shopping for the person who NEVER gets a surprise (i.e., me!).

Is Sears restricting this prize to a mom and dad family or who is? It’s hard to accept this kind of anti-gay prejudice.

I see email subscriber are automatically entered. If they live in a far away state will you draw again, without giving the opportunity to reject. If an email subscriber is drawn and does not want to travel or camera shy will you draw again? This seems like a can of worms for you.

I am in the Northeast, right in the big apple, and my local Sears store is very close by!
I could really go to town at Sears with that much money, and would love to have you as a ‘personal shopper’ helping me to find great prices on the stuff I need and use!
I’m a blogger myself I’ve long grown past ‘shy’ camera or otherwise! My life is already an open book, I might as well get rewarded for it!
Keeping my fingers and toes crossed, well OK maybe just my toes so I can keep writing!

I already subscribe, but I have to say, I agree with others. Sears really screwed up on this one. The restrictions are a bit on the ridiculous side. Mom, dad, son, and daughter? Really? Our family has me, my hubby and 1 daughter (and a baby niece who I would have bought for). No son. My sisters family is 2 girls, a boy and her. My Brothers family is 2 boys and a girl. My Aunt’s family is herself, her wife and their son. Families come in all shapes and sizes. Restricting it to a family of a husband, wife , boy and girl seems a bit strange and frankly a little prejudicial . I am not blaming you in anyway, please don’t take it wrong, but Sears really goofed on this one. I can see the regional restrictions, but the family one seems weird.

I agree – the requirements for a nuclear family are a bit bizarre but I guess as long as you have a specific person who meets the demographics they are looking to highlight it should be alright..or am I totally off base here?

This sounds like a fantastic prize, which I’d love to be able to enjoy. However, I live in CA, and my family has spread wings and relocated to various places. This is great. I just signed up! My family could really use this. We are both unfortunately jobless and we just moved into a new house and it has a really loooong driveway! We can’t afford plowing so unless we want to hibernate for the winter in our house, we need to buy a snowblower! We live in MA. I am not camera shy at all and if there is snow on the ground, I’ll even do a demo of the snowblower!
