It’s a good deal but be careful if you have any brokerage transactions… The brokers report sales to the IRS but not the cost basis. You will need to have a Schedule D prepared with the cost bases of your long and short term gains and loses or it will look as though each sale was pure capital gain.

A few years ago I used AARP for my taxes and the preparer did not do a Schedule D. I got a dear taxpayer letter from the IRS. Fortunately, I called the IRS and just had to file the Schedule D and was cleared. The following year I made sure that the Schedule D was included.
