I actually recognize the names of all the fruit on the list… After all, I am older than dirt! One of my favorite winter fruits is Mineola tangerines to eat as a snack. And making a grapefruit (red) and avocado salad (with romaine or iceberg lettuce) is a great replacement for traditional salads with tomatoes, which are horrible in winter! Just peel and section the grapefruit into a bowl (squeeze all the juice from leavings on the peel as well). Core, peel and dice an avocado into the same bowl. Mix gently and refrigerate for 30 minutes. Toss with chopped or torn lettuce. No additional dressing needed, as the grapefruit juice pulls the oil out of the avocado! Deelish!
