He bought my 1G iPhone when I upgraded to an iPhone 3GS and was about 9 months from the end of his Verizon contract. They said that since he did not buy a subsidized phone, they could apply the subsidy to buying out the existing contract. Oh, and for the person who is complaining about DirecTV... What option do you really have? If it's Comcast, then stay where you are... Comcast is without a doubt in my mind, the worst example of the Peter Principle (look it up) in action in the entire country (that I have yet encountered - and I had DirecTV until about 2 years ago - was quite pleased with them except that my DirecTV died and had no choice at the time but to go with their crappy DVRs...
